Hi guys, I have an e39 BMW 525I 2002, I seem to have a faulty heat gauge, the car reaches its normal temperature then after 15min of driving it almost redlines but reduces to normal when I release the pedal. Throttle and steering control is great mid corner, power on for a great drift car, no problem, great 6 speed manual. Best year is a 2006 530i. Reason is it has 255hp engine and tighter suspension. 2007 and after BMW softened sport suspension for North American market. DPF filters on diesel models need changing every 90 000 miles or 150 000km. 530D diesel models tend to start bad due to common faults of the camshaft sensors. Common oil leaks on automatic transmissions. High-pressure fuel pumps tended to fail on 525i and 530i models with the N53 engine.
Recommended Oil: 5W-30, 6.5 litres. Fuel Type: Petrol. Lifetime: > 300 thous.km. The BMW M54 is an inline six-cylinder DOHC engine produced by BMW between 2000 and 2006, which replaced the M52 engine. Unlike the previous generation engine, this engine did not receive a TU (technical update) and its specifications remained unchanged throughout
