I have a 2016 1.5L Ecoboost titanium hutchback. I've now clocked 110k km. It's been very reliable (touch wood), I haven't had fix anything aside from the regular care (every 15k km). I do know that for my next visit I'll need to replace the timing belt and one of the engine seats rubber thingies. It's been a pleasure to drive, and I'll probably I'm a Ford technician and I can tell you, that the 3.5 ecoboost is far more popular than the 5.0, and all the major problems I've seen in the 3.5 are due to lack of maintenance. Ford says 10,000, but from what I see, 10,000 even with full synthetic is too long and you'll run into cam phaser and timing chain concerns, as well as turbo concerns.
3 - My wiper stalk became faulty (well, the washer button did) so I had to swap it with one from a scrappy. 4 - The paint was very, very thin. Apart from that it was fabulous. Economical, great to
In 2009, Ford introduced the EcoBoost engine family, boasting various cylinder configurations, sizes, applications, and power outputs for modern passenger cars. The economic engine family ranges from small 1.0-liter three-cylinder engines to 2.3-liter four-cylinder units, 3.5-liter V6s, 2.7-liter V8s, and 3.5-liter V8s.
I would go with the 1.0l ecoboost because it is the only engine that is paired with the 6 speed automatic unlike the rest of the engines that are paired with the piece of garbage dual clutch transmission. The 1.0 will be reliable if you follow the scheduled maintenance, that engine has won engine of the year 6 years running.
Which is potentially more reliable/dependable motor the 1.0 or 1.5 Ecoboost for the III.1 (facelift) Ford Focus? I couldn't find any statistics on the internet, so I am reaching out for your experience. I am looking to buy a used 2015-2016 focus estate with max 90-100k KMs (not miles).
